How to use SwimTopia
Good afternoon,
Thank you for your patience as we learn more about effectively using the SwimTopia App and website (https://otfswimteam.swimtopia.com/) this year.
The big lesson this week is what the App does vs what the website does. They are complementary programs but are not capable of doing the exact same thing. The App shows both current and past information about members and events. At meets, you can see what you volunteer for and the events that your swimmer is in. The website is where you give us information.
When you open the App you’ll see under Events the first line is Past Events, if you click here you can see results from meets your child swam in both this year and back to 2018! As time allows, we’ll load more past meets to help you appreciate how your swimmer has improved over time.
If you scroll down through Events, you see when the current and future meets are. This year, we enter events for swimmers on Wednesday night. By Thursday morning, you can see the heat sheet which gives the Event, Heat and Lane information. This is what should be written on your child’s arm to help them know what’s happening at the meet.
The website is where you give OTF information about your swimmer(s) and family. You must use the website to register, reply to surveys, email the team, as well as sign-up for meets and volunteering. You can also see all the information that appears on the App as well as the Stroke & Turn video, meet results, copies of past emails sent to the team, info on our coaches, info about private swim lessons, and so much more. Here is a link to the page that describes how to sign up for meets & volunteering:

In the future, when we have a full season with dual meets and championships, there will even more information we push out through both the App and website. Until then, please continue to explore both and ask any questions that come up.
NOTE: For the purposes of a summer league, there’s no reason to upgrade to PRO. This app is also used by competitive, high school and college teams. We won’t use the features that the PRO version provides.
If you haven’t signed your swimmer up yet, please use the links above to do so. Looking forward to another beautiful morning of racing!
See you at the pool,
Dawn, Susan and Coach Kristi
